Ballina Coast High School Leo Club

The East Ballina Lions Club is the proud sponsor of the Ballina Coast High School Leo Club. Leo Clubs provide young people with an opportunity for development and contribution, individually and collectively, as responsible members of the local, national and international community. Through the Leo Club Program, young people develop and practice leadership, organisation and social skills through participation in Leo Club activities and service projects. Involvement in these activities often fosters a lifetime commitment to helping others, while enhancing the community.

The Leo Club motto is ‘Leadership, Experience and Opportunity’ which says it all.

The success of a Leo Club depends on a close partnership with its sponsoring Lions Club. The Lions’ role is to offer support, guidance and counsel while the Leos are responsible for planning and implementing their own activities, financing their projects and maintaining the smooth operation of their own club.

Under the sponsorship of the East Ballina Lions Club, the Leo Club has, on a number of occasions, been the District Leo Club of the Year and has received the Club project award.

Individual Leo members that have taken part in the Leo of the Year competition have won through Club, District, State and National levels of the competition with one member being named as an International Leo of the Year.
